“The best thing to happen to balloons since KIDS!”

When I was a child, I never had a birthday party. My Mother was a single parent; there were three of us, so money was scarce. We'd have cake, but none of the birthday hoopla's of todays time. But I would always get one thing: a balloon. My Mother would tie it to my wrist, and let me wear it all day long. I didn't think about what I didn't have, I was happy that there was something special about me that day and everyone could see it! As I grew older, I lost track of that feeling. I began to focus on the things I didn't have; I focused on the things I'd lost. I would say, "If only my marriage worked", "If only I had more money", or the BIG one: "If only I were smaller!". 

But what if....just what if...I once again focused on what was special about me? My gifts, my desire to help others, my entrepreneurial spirit...what if I only focused on the special things. To have the eyes of a child again, to be the little girl with the balloon.

When I made the choice to focus on the special things, special things began to happen in my life. God healed the places I never thought would heal, he turned my passions turned into businesses; which surprisingly resulted in  better eating habits! Go figure! I was no longer the woman with life's baggage, I was once again the girl with the balloon. It's funny how life's twist and turns always works for out good.
